A low income housing development has been proposed for development very near Spring Creek Oaks. On January 19, the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) received a pre-application for a tax credit for the Strathmore Development, an 80-unit complex that would be developed on the currently wooded area south of Louetta just east of Wimbledon Estates and southeast of Pure Fitness. These developments can negatively impact property values and can also further strain our schools and emergency/utility services.
This particular development is located in District 126, and State Representative Sam Harless has already sent a letter objecting to this project. This should be sufficient to defeat this project in its current form. If any resident has further questions or concerns regarding this project or any other, please contact the office of either District 126 Representative Sam Harless (281-251-0194) or District 150 Representative Val Swanson (281-257-4222). It’s important that our elected representatives hear our opinions about these and other important issues.
